Moscot Eyewear and Eyecare has been a New York City institution since 1915, when Hyman Moscot established his eyeglasses business on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Four generations later, Moscot remains a family business. Today, Moscot sells its wildly popular eyewear collections -- the MOSCOT Originals and MOSCOT Spirits -- to fans and celebrities worldwide via worldwide retail store locations and the Moscot website. Moscot.com was launched on 1/10/2009, providing a selection of more than 1,000 frames from a wide variety of well-known eyewear and sunglass designers. Magiclamp Networks implemented the Magic Shopping System to create a seamless online shopping experience for Moscot's customers. The Magic Shopping System includes a user-friendly web catalog, shopping cart, and checkout system. As with all Magiclamp web applications, the Magic Shopping System has an easy-to-use web administration site that allows Moscot to add new products, and to update pricing, descriptions, photos and product details of all of their eyeglasses. Moscot.com features a fully integrated Content Management System, which allows for easy image upload and fast web updates. The online product gallery includes large, clear images of the eyeglasses, which can be easily updated through the site administration website. Magiclamp Networks also implemented a Product Customization tool, so that Moscot's customers can customize the style, frame color and frame size of their eyeglasses. Customers even have the option of adding their new prescription to the frames and selecting the frames for sunglasses. Moscot's website also contains a Wholesale Area, where approved Wholesalers can log in and shop Moscot's eyeglasses at Wholesale prices. Potential retailers can also sign up to be a Moscot Wholesaler by filling out a short application on Moscot's Wholesale page. Magiclamp also integrated specialized software with Moscot's POS. The specialized software, MyVision Express, is connected to the website for accurate inventory management and the ability to push orders in directly. In addition, Magiclamp is adding a "Request Appointment" feature, as well as an intake form, to the site. Patients will be able to fill out the intake form on the website rather than filling it out during their eye appointment.
