| McPeek's Timepiece was founded in 1976 by Robert McPeek Sr. who studied horology under Master watch and clockmaker, Harry Johnson. The company is now run by Robert McPeek Sr.'s grandson, who recognized the need to bring his family business to the web. He found Magiclamp Networks to be a web design company he could rely on to highlight McPeek's Timepiece's products online.
Magiclamp Networks' web design team launched McPeek's Timepiece site on December 5th, 2008. The site features the Magiclamp Shopping System, Content Management System, Advanced Product Family Management and Free Gift with Purchase functionality.
Magiclamp Networks implemented the Magic Shopping System to create a seamless online shopping experience for McPeek's customers. The Magic Shopping System includes a user-friendly web catalog, shopping cart, and checkout system. As with all Magiclamp web applications, the Magic Shopping System has an easy-to-use web administration site that allows McPeek's Timepiece to add new products, and to update pricing, descriptions, and product details of all of their watches. Magiclamp implemented an advanced classification system for the products, so customers can browse watches by brand (including Swiss Army, Rolex, Longines, Tissot and Tutima), pre-owned watches, and clearance items.
McPeek's Timepiece features a fully integrated Content Management System, which allows for easy image upload and fast web updates. The online product gallery includes large, clear images of the watches, which can be easily updated through the site administration website. Within the Content Management System, Magiclamp added Advanced Product Family Management to the admin, which allows the web administrator to classify all of the watches. This "typing" makes it so a watch can be placed in multiple categories (as both a "Rolex" and "Pre-Owned" item, for example), and the customers can rely on accurate results from their searches.
Magiclamp also implemented the Free Gift with Purchase functionality for McPeek's website, which is driven by the admin. Some of McPeek's Timepiece's products come with a free gift, and their web design allows customers to select their gift at check-out. The web administrator can also control on the back-end which free gifts to offer with particular products.
